I bought the Tomcat to replace my 25 year old Barnett Trident Magnum (75lb) because being an old bloke with arthritis my back can't take too much bending over with foot in the goatsfoot and trying to stand up straight whilst pulling on the crossbow string. First thing I noticed about the Tomcat was how much lighter it was than the all metal Trident an advantage if you hold the crossbow straight arm to fire like I do. I was attracted to the Tomcat because of the cocking mechanism which seemed easy on the Tomcat videos and which subsequently proved to be so although there is an unnerving scraping noise which presumably is the safety engaging? The easy to release safety mechanism with either hand is far better than the fiddly one sided safety catch on the Trident.I found I can fire more rounds with the Tomcat at any one time because of ease of cocking and certainly worth the outlay for a new crossbow. The Tomcat seems as powerful as the Trident although I found the bolts that came with the Tomcat a bit lighter and flimsier than my old ones although a few metal BB's put into the bolt shaft will remedy that and increase the hitting power too.Good service from a friendly company, will the Tomcat last 25 years who knows it will probably see an old git like me out though.

I ordered a couple of Mk2 Tomcats before Christmas and had issues with delivery - no fault of UK Crossbows - the courier screwed up and a bit of bad luck played a part BUT - Sam at UK Crossbows could not have been more helpful. The saga with the courier ran and ran but at every stage there was Sam doing his best to sort it all out. My Emails were responded to within the same day, usually within the hour(!) and all was resolved - I have not come across a better Customer Service anywhere - totally professional and willing to go as far as it takes to look after their customer - how rare. The product is excellent - staggering power and accuracy from an amazingly cheap product - superb value. I shoot at long range with heavy calibre rifles and love the whole shooting world and am not easy to please from a critical assessment point of view but for what you pay and what you get you should just order one or even two! Immense fun, no licensing and exceptional value for money.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough - they deserve your business and you won`t be disappointed. A well above average company to deal with. My thanks to them.
